13-18 Month Milestones Checklist

*Remember each baby will reach the milestones when he/she is ready. If your baby has not reached all of these milestones by 18 months do not worry as it may occur in the next month. Talk to your doctor and see how you can help encourage your baby. 


Motor
  • Walks independently without falling 
  • Squats to pick up objects
  • Stacks toy blocks or toys
  • Puts objects in/out of containers 
  • Bangs objects together

Sensory
  • Helps with getting dressed/undressed
  • Finds hidden things easily
  • Copies gestures
  • Lets things go without help

Communication
  • May use 5-10 words
  • Consistently follows simple directions
  • Shows interest in pictures
  • Can identify body parts when named
  • Continues to produce speech like babbling


Feeding
  • Eating an increasing variety of foods
  • Eats coarsely chopped table foods
  • Holds and drinks from cup
