Feeding Cues
Your baby will let you know when he/she is hungry. When your baby starts to cry that is one of your baby's last resorts to let you know he/she is hungry. It is important to watch your baby's cue and try to feed him/her before he/she resorts to crying.

Early Cues
- Smacking or licking lips
- Opening and closing mouth
- Sucking lips, hands, fingers, toys, or clothing
Active Cues
- Rooting around on the chest of whoever is holding them
- Baby tries to position his/herself for nursing
- Fussier than normal
- Fidgeting or squirming more often
Late Cues
- Moving head frantically
- Crying
Hunger Cues for 5 Months - 12 Months
- Fussy
- Reaches for food
- Points to food
- Gets excited when food is offered
- Asks for foods with sounds
