Let's Make a Baby
The moment you and your partner think about becoming parents it is exciting. Most couples tend to have a general timeline of when they want to start to conceive. I believe there are 3 types of couples when it comes to having a baby - (i) the let's just see; (ii) the kind that want to plan, and (iii) the scientist. A couple can go through all 3 of these types while trying to have a baby, and then there are some couples that are just one type.
Let's Just See Couples
These are the couples that just stop using all forms of birth control. They are the ones that if it happens, it happens. Zero stress and they go with the flow. These couples are not necessarily trying to get pregnant fast. I think most people want to fall into this category, but as the biological clock ticks, more couples want to start to take control of their fertility.
Kind that want to Plan Couples
These couples are similar to the let's just see, however they have some concept of time. These couples usually are tracking their cycles on apps and have a gauge of when they might be ovulating. Most couples fall into this category.
Scientist Couples
These couples know they want to have a baby, and want to have a baby soon. These couples are using ovulation tests, checking basal body temperatures and seeing all the signs the body gives off when a woman is ovulating. For couples that do not have any medical issues, they usually get pregnant within 3-5 months.
If, at any point, you and your partner believe there might be an issue, talk to your doctor or seek the help of a fertility doctor. There are many things that can be done to help your chances of conceiving. However, you first have to figure out what the issue could be.
