Unnati Topiwala
Hi, I’m Unnati, a mom to an energetic little boy.
I am the founder and creator of Mamas Today. My background is in Digital Marketing and I have a Bachelors in Anthropology and Chemistry. I got married in 2012 and we decided to have a baby 5 years later. Waiting to have a baby was not easy, given me and my husband come from an Indian background where they expect couples to have a baby quickly after getting married.
I became pregnant when I was 30. I was lucky enough that the pregnancy was easy for me (I never even had morning sickness), which I found odd, but I was grateful. My luck however changed while delivering my baby boy. After being in the hospital for over 12 hours, I had to go through an emergency C-Section. After delivering my son I became extremely swollen and developed PUPPPs (Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques). Thankfully, those symptoms disappeared quickly, and I was able to meet the new challenges of being a first-time mom.
Luckily, I had a strong group of moms that helped me and still help me get through various obstacles.
Being pregnant and becoming a mom has taught me to stop overthinking and go with the flow. Life is too short to analyze the little things. Enjoy every single moment you have with your little ones, because no day is ever the same and they grow up so fast that you will regret not soaking in the little things.
